Klöckner narrows loss in second quarter

CHICAGO Klöckner & Co. SEs net income and sales from its Americas operations dipped in the second quarter due in part to lower price levels and weak steel markets, the company said Aug. 7.
Americas sales fell to 637 million ($845.8 million) in the quarter, down 12.4 percent from 727 million in the same period last year, in part because the company discontinued business activities that were insufficiently profitable on a lasting basis. ....
