SÃO PAULO — The sale of almost 200,000 tonnes of hot-briquetted iron (HBI) in the global market via two tenders from Venezuela has sparked a host of questions, sources said.

The Ministry of Industry is offering 90,000 tonnes of HBI for sale, slated for August/September shipment from the Palúa Port in Bolívar state.

Bids on an f.o.b. level will be accepted by Aug. 12, but no minimum price has been fixed by the ministry in the tender terms it posted on its website at the beginning of this week.....
