Jamaican alumina refiner’s contract spurs Glencore suit

LONDON Glencore Xstrata Plc is suing Jamaicas Clarendon Alumina Production Ltd. (CAP) after the alumina refiner struck a deal with a Hong Kong-based commodities trading firm, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
CAPs sales agreement with Noble Group Ltd. would prevent the government-owned company from meeting its contractual obligations to supply alumina to Glencore Xstrata, based on CAPs alumina production forecast, Glencore Xstrata alleges.....
