UPI launches W. Coast flat-roll price increase

LOS ANGELES USS-Posco Industries Inc. (UPI) has kicked off the latest round of flat-rolled steel hikes on the West Coast amid what appears to be growing caution among mills and buyers.
Pittsburg, Calif.-based UPI told customers it would raise hot-rolled pickled and oiled, cold-rolled and galvanized sheet prices by $20 per ton ($1 per hundredweight) effective Aug. 7, market sources said.
