First Nickel blames low nickel prices for loss

NEW YORK — First Nickel Inc. has blamed low nickel prices for its net loss in the second quarter, leaving the company looking to manage costs in a low-price environment.

The Toronto-based company posted a net loss of Canadian $16.5 million ($16 million) for the three months ended June 30 on revenue of C$15 million ($14.5 million) in contrast to net income of C$123,943 in the same period last year, prior to the Lockerby Mine achieving commercial production July 1, 2012. ....
