GE expands Ga. facility in $88M project

CHICAGO GE Appliances LaFayette, Ga., plant has undergone an expansion to accommodate a 1,100-ton power press in an $88-million project.
The Louisville, Ky.-based company, a unit of Fairfield, Conn.-based General Electric Co., installed the press to increase its metal fabrication capability as part of a program to insource metal parts to support the manufacture of a new line of wall ovens, creating 90 jobs....
