Glencore Xstrata’s first half copper output up 20%

SINGAPORE Glencore Xstrata Plc reported a 20 percent rise in copper output from its own mines in the first half of 2013, driven by an increase in African production.
Own-sourced copper production for the six months ended June 30 was 673,400 tonnes, the company said Aug. 14 in its first half-year production report since commodities group Glencore International Plcs takeover of global miner Xstrata Plc in May. ....
