Mercator income drops on low copper, moly prices

NEW YORK — Mercator Minerals Ltd.’s earnings fell 60.5 percent in the second quarter on lower realized copper and molybdenum prices.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company posted net income of $8.75 million for the three months ended June 30, down from $22.14 million in the same period a year earlier despite a 4.8-percent increase in sales to $64.23 million thanks to higher shipments.....
