Tokyo Steel lifts scrap buying prices

TOKYO — Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co. Ltd. increased its purchase prices for the first time since March as an upswing in Japanese domestic scrap prices gained traction this past week.

As a result, the steelmaker raised its scrap buying price by 1,500 yen ($15) per tonne for deliveries to its Tahara Works and by 1,000 yen ($10) per tonne for deliveries to its other four works. This put the H2 scrap purchasing....
