NEW YORK — Turkish rebar imports are poised to soar in August compared with the same month last year, according to import licensing data, as rumors circulated about an imminent trade case against Turkey and Mexico.

Rebar imports from Turkey exceeded 65,000 tonnes, according to licensing data collected through Aug. 27, nearly three times the volume in August last year. Imports in July increased slightly over the same month last year to 15,545 tonnes, according to preliminary U.S. Census data. ....
