Silicon market hazy; contract talks loom

CHICAGO — Silicon market outlooks have diverged ahead of contract talks at an upcoming industry event, with some market participants arguing that prices are on the rise while others contend they haven’t recovered from a summer lull.

Most market participants contacted by AMM reported transactions in the range of 1.23 to 1.25 cents per pound. But significant volumes were also reportedly transacted as high as 1.29 cents per pound, while smaller deals were pegged as low as 1.19 cents per pound.....
