LOS ANGELES — J. Landis Martin will receive the International Titanium Association’s (ITA’s) Lifetime Achievement Award at the group’s annual conference Oct. 6-9 in Las Vegas.

Martin, founder and managing director of Denver-based private equity investment firm Platte River Ventures Inc., was an executive at Titanium Metals Corp. (Timet) for 18 years, including 16 years as chief executive officer, before retiring as chairman and chief executive in 2005. ....
