High LME tin prices slow spot demand

NEW YORK — Spot demand for tin has fallen in the United States after newly enforced Indonesian regulations led to higher prices on the London Metal Exchange over the past two weeks, according to domestic market players.

"Today we booked a couple of small orders but (the market) is not doing what it should be," a tin trader said. "The high prices are a factor; maybe people are waiting for it to come back down."....
