Stainless producers rein in Oct. surcharges

NEW YORK North American Stainless Inc. (NAS), ATI Allegheny Ludlum Corp. and AK Steel Corp. are lowering their stainless steel surcharges for October across most grades, reversing the increases seen a month earlier.
Ghent, Ky.-based NAS set its October surcharges at 63.9 cents per pound for Type 304 material, down 2 percent from 65.18 cents in September; 42.86 cents for Type 201, down 2 percent from 43.76 cents; and 88.02 cents for Type 316, down 1.2 percent from....
