Gerdau’s capital projects roll along in Mich.

CHICAGO Gerdau SAs capital improvement projects at its special bar quality (SBQ) steel mill in Monroe, Mich., have marked additional progress.
The plant added a new continuous caster last October and dismantled the old caster this past June.
"The new caster is part of a larger project that will increase the quality of steel we produce," Jay Murthy, director of technical services and product development at Gerdau Special Steel North America, said in a statement Sept. 25.....
