Gerdau’s Bell to succeed Danjczek at SMA

NEW YORK Philip K. Bell, the director of external communications and public affairs at Gerdau Long Steel North America, will become president of Washington-based trade group Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) effective Nov. 1.
Phil brings an extensive background of public affairs, corporate communications, leadership and managerial experience in the steel industry, John Ferriola, chairman of SMA and president and chief executive officer of Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor Corp., said in a statement. He is equipped to lead a strong, member-focused SMA into the future. ....
