Nucor, USW, others seek court injunction

NEW YORK Nucor Corp., the United Steelworkers union, five manufacturers and the Municipal Castings Association have filed a lawsuit seeking an enjoinment against the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in the latest push to overturn a rule that exempts some steel and iron products from Buy America regulations.
The plaintiffs in the suit have pressed the FHWA for months to abandon a December memo stating that Buy America laws, which require government-funded transportation projects to use steel that has been produced in the United States, dont need to be applied to certain steel and iron products used in transportation construction (amm.com, Sept. 17).....
