CHICAGO — Vivint Inc. has named former Alcoa Inc. executive Mark Davies chief financial officer.

The Provo, Utah-based home security company said Oct. 11 that Davies’ experience at big, publicly held companies would help it as it grows its financial interests and investments.

Before joining Pittsburgh-based Alcoa, Davies held leadership positions at information technology firms Dell Inc., Round Rock, Texas, and Hewlett Packard Co., Palo-Alto, Calif., Vivint said.

Vivint’s announcement came one day after Alcoa said it had named Graeme Bottger to be executive vice president and president of global business services following Davies’ decision to accept a position at another company (, Oct. 10).
