Caserones copper project to begin production in ‘14

LONDON Pan Pacific Copper Co. Ltd., Japans largest copper smelter, will start copper and molybdenum concentrates production at its Caserones project in Chile in January 2014, the company said.
The Tokyo-based company, a joint venture of JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corp. (66 percent) and Mitsui Mining & Smelting Co. Ltd. (34 percent), said initial capital expenditures for the project have been increased to about $4.2 billion from $3 billion.....
