CRU concludes audit of Midwest steel price indices

NEW YORK As pressure mounts for domestic steel mills and consumers to agree on 2014 contract terms, CRU International Ltd. has conducted a third-party audit on its U.S. Midwest hot-rolled, cold-rolled and hot-dipped galvanized coil and plate price indices.
"We saw it as an opportunity to really enforce the rigor and robustness of our approach," Glenn Cooney, head of operations for CRU Indices, said in an interview with AMM. "This audit was in development for a good 12 to 18 months prior to us actually initiating it in the summer."....
