CarTech blames soft market for income dip

NEW YORK Carpenter Technology Corp. reported lower earnings in its fiscal first quarter due to soft market conditions that resulted in a drop in net sales.
The Wyomissing, Pa.-based company posted net income of $34.6 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, down 11.7 percent from $39.2 million in the same period last year, on sales that slid 8.5 percent to $498.6 million.....
