Steel exports up 5.5% in Aug. vs. July

NEW YORK U.S. steel exports rose 5.5 percent in August compared with the previous month amid increased shipments to Brazil, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
Steel leaving U.S. mills totaled slightly more than 1.04 million tonnes in August, up from 986,392 tonnes in July but down from more than 1.06 million tonnes in August 2012, according to data from the U.S. Commerce Departments Enforcement and Compliance division.....
