Nucor's executive chair DiMicco to step down

NEW YORK Daniel R. DiMicco will retire from Nucor Corp.s board of directors as executive chairman Dec. 31 and has accepted the honorary title of chairman emeritus, the company said Nov. 5.
John J. Ferriola, president and chief executive officer of the Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker, will become chairman of the board effective Jan. 1.
DiMicco joined Nucor in 1982 and served as vice president from 1992 to 1999, executive vice president from 1999 to 2000, vice chairman from June 2001 to May 2006, and chairman from 2006 to 2012. He was Nucors chief executive officer from September 2000 to December 2012, overseeing the company through the economic slump of the early 2000s and the Great Recession of 2008-09.....
