Steel sheet prices seen rising on low stocks

CHICAGO — Higher U.S. steel sheet prices are being supported by low service center and end-user inventories, combined with reduced output by producers, with some buyers speculating that another price increase could be announced before Thanksgiving.

The market has been lacking demand strength outside of automotive, however, and higher domestic pricing is attracting more trader quoting activity, sources told AMM. These views are backed by the latest results from the Institute for Supply Management Steel Buyers Forum survey.....
