Sumitomo partners with gas research institute

NEW YORK Sumitomo Corp. has entered into a "comprehensive alliance" with the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) to "assist Japanese companies in taking on a larger role in unconventional gas-related businesses," it said Nov. 18.
The alliance comes after the Japanese trading house agreed to merge with Baton Rouge, La.-based energy tubulars distributor Edgen Group Inc. (amm.com, Oct. 1).....
