Upstate adds shredder to Albany port facility

NEW YORK Upstate Shredding LLC-Ben Weitsman & Son Inc. has acquired a shredder to bolster its facility at the Port of Albany in New York.
Company president Adam Weitsman told AMM he purchased the Owego, N.Y.-based companys third shredder Nov. 25 and hopes to have it fully functional in early June 2014.
The 3,000-horsepower Wendt Corp. shredder will be capable of processing between 15,000 and 18,000 tons of scrap metal each month if run at full capacity in long shifts, or about 100 gross tons per hour, he said.....
