More recyclers exit N. Carolina scrap market

PITTSBURGH A total of five scrapyards have left the North Carolina scrap market in the past four months amid heightened competition in the state, market participants told AMM.
Kemp Recyclers and Uwharrie Salvage & Scrap are the latest companies to close facilites in North Carolina.
Uwharrie closed both of its yards in early November, citing pressure from increasing competition in the local market.....
