Brass scrap prices rise in step with Comex

NEW YORK Prices for most grades of brass scrap rose Dec. 4, as sources said the move was precipitated by recent gains on Comex and a slight uptick in domestic demand.
Red brass (No. 1 composition solids) now stand at $2.44 to $2.48 per pound, composition borings and turnings at $2.41 to $2.45 per pound, and radiators at $2.11 to $2.15 per pound. Yellow brass solids, largely an export item, were unchanged at $2.08 to $2.10 per pound.....
