Copper premiums climb in Europe

LONDON — Copper premiums were quoted as high as $180 per tonne in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, this past week and are climbing due to a thinly supplied European physical market, participants told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.

The strength in premiums follows large-scale shutdowns by Hamburg, Germany-based Aurubis AG and Madrid-based Atlantic Copper SA, which began in September.....
