EADS to consolidate operations, cut jobs

LOS ANGELES European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. NV (EADS), parent company of aircraft maker Airbus SAS, plans to consolidate its defense operations, eliminating 5,800 positions in the process.
EADS has presented a restructuring plan for its defense and space businesses to the European Works Council, which oversees labor and employment issues in the European Union.....
