CHICAGO Scrap and alloy surcharges for special bar quality (SBQ) products appear mixed for January, with one producer steady and another setting increases.
Nucor Corp.s Darlington, S.C.-based bar mill group is holding its scrap surcharge on SBQ and wire rod products effective Jan. 1 steady at $13 per hundredweight ($260 per ton), it said in a Dec. 12 letter to customers. The surcharge is based....
