Beam market gets hazier amid second hike

LOS ANGELES The steel beam price environment became a little murkier this past week as Gerdau Long Steel North America increased prices even as the impact of earlier pricing moves remained unclear.
The Tampa, Fla.-based steelmaker said Dec. 10 it would raise its beam transaction prices $10 per ton (50 cents per hundredweight) effective with new orders placed Dec. 13 (amm.com, Dec. 12).....
