Antitrust suits vs. LME, banks go to NY court

CHICAGO — A raft of lawsuits against the London Metal Exchange, big banks and warehousing companies over an alleged conspiracy to restrict aluminum supplies and inflate aluminum prices and premiums have been consolidated in federal court in New York.

All parties supported combining the cases but disagreed over the best jurisdiction, with suggestions including federal courts in California, Florida, Louisiana and Michigan, according to documents filed by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.....
