Ford vehicle launches may curb production

CHICAGO Ford Motor Co.s North American assembly lines might be constrained at times during 2014 as it begins producing 16 new or refreshed vehicles, according to the Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker.
"Ford will have 16 launches in North America in 2014. This is triple the number of vehicles launched in Fords largest region in 2013," executive vice president and chief financial officer Robert L. Shanks said during a Dec. 18 conference call with investment bankers. These launches "will cause wholesale volume to be lower than in 2013, but the payoff will be a stronger product lineup along with volume and revenue opportunities into 2015....
