CHICAGO — Mississippi Silicon plans to break ground on a silicon metal production facility in Burnsville, Miss., Jan. 13, a company executive told AMM.

The $200-million facility is expected be built in two years, employ up to 200 workers and produce 36,000 tonnes of silicon metal annually once fully operational, according to a press release from Bocaiúva, Brazil-based ferroalloy and nonferrous producer Rima Industrial SA. Initial work is already under way, according to the company.....
