China’s cold-rolled steel coil hits US

NEW YORK — Large volumes of Chinese cold-rolled steel coil are flooding U.S. shores, with some market participants predicting increasing volumes in the coming months.

"The numbers we’ve seen is not the peak," one trader said. "I guarantee you that the number is coming up."

Some 69,327 tonnes of Chinese cold-rolled were expected to arrive last month, according to license data from the Commerce Department’s Enforcement and Compliance division, more than double November’s final license figure of 32,624 tonnes and the highest number in over a year.....
