Rio’s copper output up on Bingham, Oyu Tolgoi

SHANGHAI Rio Tinto Plcs copper output rose in the final quarter of 2013 due in part to continued recovery at its Bingham Canyon Mine and a ramp-up at the Oyu Tolgoi Mine.
The London-based mining companys mined copper production totaled 172,800 tonnes in the quarter, up 5 percent from a year earlier and up 6 percent from the prior quarter. Refined copper output was down 6 percent at 81,000 tonnes but up 18.6 percent from the previous quarter.....
