RTI acquires Directed Manufacturing

LOS ANGELES RTI International Metals Inc., in another downstream move from titanium mill products, is entering additive manufacturing with the $23-million acquisition of Directed Manufacturing Inc.
Pittsburgh-based RTI paid cash for Directed Manufacturing, a specialist in 3-D printing technologies whose products include aerospace airfoils, rakes, guide vanes and injection nozzles, fasteners, surgical tools, medical implants and injection mold inserts. Its customers include "a number of major aerospace industry prime contractors and suppliers," RTI said.....
