NEW YORK — U.S. import licence volumes of Turkish rebar surged in January ahead of potential anti-dumping and countervailing duties that could be applied to imports of Turkish and Mexican rebar.

Some 131,505 tonnes of rebar is poised to arrive in the United States from Turkey alone this month, according to data from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Enforcement and Compliance division collected through Jan. 21.....
