Japanese aluminum premiums hit record high

SINGAPORE Spot Main Japanese Port aluminum premiums surpassed $300 per tonne this past week, a record high, following the spike in premiums in the West.
Small deals of 200 to 300 tonnes each were concluded at premiums of $300 to $310 per tonne in the latter part of the week, market sources told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin, after settling at $270 to $300 per tonne earlier in the week.
"We did big volumes but less than 1,000 tonnes at $290 to $300," one Japanese trader said.....
