Boeing foresees smoother output of commercial jets

LOS ANGELES — Boeing Co. expects fewer production risks after establishing cutting-edge technologies, such as the composites used to build the company’s 787 Dreamliner.

"The next 10 years are significantly de-risked," Boeing chairman, president and chief executive officer Jim McNerney said during the company’s quarterly earnings conference call. "Lord knows, we went through the maturational process not as elegantly as we would have liked," but the Chicago-based company is "now in a position that we can move those technologies into our new platforms."....
