US trade case filed against China wire rod

NEW YORK — A long-awaited trade case has been filed by a coalition of U.S. wire rod producers against imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from China.

Anti-dumping and countervailing duty petitions were filed Jan. 31 with the U.S. Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration (ITA), as well as the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), on behalf of the Wire Rod Coalition, comprised of ArcelorMittal USA LLC, Charter Steel, Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel, Gerdau Ameristeel U.S. Inc., Keystone Consolidated Industries Inc. and Nucor Corp.

The petitions were filed by Alan Price and Daniel Pickard, lawyers at Wiley Rein LLP, Washington, which represents Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor; with Paul Rosenthal, Kathleen Cannon and Alan Luberda, lawyers at New York-based Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, representing the remaining petitioners.....
