US steel imports on rise; rebar logs big gain

NEW YORK — U.S. steel imports were expected to jump sharply in January on the back of increased shipments of a number of major products, including reinforcing bar and flat-rolled sheet.

One trader and a Midwest service center source told AMM this week that the numbers are just the start of more sheet imports due to arrive on U.S. shores in the coming months.....
