Calvert to target high-end marts: ArcelorMittal

NEW YORK ArcelorMittal SAs soon-to-be acquired Calvert, Ala., operations will primarily target higher-end markets utilizing advanced high-strength steels, such as automotive and energy, according to one of the steelmakers top executives.
"We view the asset as an additive to our existing operations. Clearly, its a facility thats capable of producing and serving very high-end markets ... the principal market targets there are automotive and energy," Louis L. Schorsch, chief executive officer of ArcelorMittals Americas division, told analysts during a quarterly earnings conference call Feb. 7. "The facility is a very good one. I think that the people are good ... so were very pleased about it and confident we can make it work."....
