TMK moving up the value chain in tubulars

NEW ORLEANS TMK Ipsco, the North American arm of Russian pipe and tube maker OAO TMK, has been working to move up the value chain in energy tubulars in light of a well-supplied market.
"Specifically, for us the answer has been in the short to medium term you would work on finishing, you would work on moving your product to the right in terms of complexity and upward in terms of profitability," chairman Piotr Galitzine said during the National Association of Steel Pipe Distributors annual convention in New Orleans.
