Cliffs details savings from chromite project stay

NEW YORK — Cliffs Natural Resources Inc.’s decision to suspend work on its chromite project in northern Ontario’s Ring of Fire is part of a shift away from an "aggressive growth agenda," according to newly appointed chief executive officer Gary B. Halverson.

Cliffs announced in November that it was indefinitely suspending work on the chromite project (amm.com, Nov. 21), soon after Halverson took over as president and chief operating officer (amm.com, Oct. 25). ....
