China to account for nearly half of zinc demand

DANA POINT, Calif. Global zinc demand will reach 14.09 million tonnes this year and rise to 14.78 million tonnes in 2015, an executive at a subsidiary of Korea Zinc Co. Ltd. said.
Chinese zinc demand will account for 6.61 million tonnes (about 46.9 percent) in 2014 and 7.11 million tonnes (or 48.1 percent) next year, according to Jason Chang, managing director of overseas marketing for zinc and lead at Korea Zinc subsidiary Sorin Corp., which....
