CHICAGO — Strong shipments of aerospace plate and record growth in automotive extrusions bolstered Kaiser Aluminum Corp.’s results otherwise dented by a glut in other products.

An inventory "overhang" in non-plate aerospace products hurt earnings in 2013 and the Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based company warned that bloated aerospace plate stocks—expected to drag on 2014 results—could drive down prices for aerospace and general engineering plate.....
