Aero destocking to hit aluminum plate: Kaiser

CHICAGO Spot prices for aluminum plate have tumbled into 2014 as mills fight for business by lowering tags, according to Kaiser Aluminum Corp.s top executive.
Prices are dropping as the aerospace supply chain braces for a "correction with destocking" in 2014 after a period of restocking in 2013, Kaiser president and chief executive officer Jack A. Hockema said during an earnings conference call Feb. 18.
"Prices this year will not be as good as our prices last year," he said, adding that the drag could continue into 2015.....
