Chicago grants permit for new auto shredder

PITTSBURGH Chicago could become home to a fourth auto shredder after the citys Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously to grant the necessary permit to Pure Metal Recycling LLC.
Pure Metal Recyclings owners applied more than six months ago for a special-use permit to establish a Class IVB recycling facility, the designation for large-scale processing operations such as shredding (amm.com, Aug. 5), but the hearing was postponed four times for various reasons.....
